Ramona understands the complex dynamics of working within and for diverse communities. Her academic research, work within both the African American and Latino communities, and professional and personal experiences have empowered her with keen insight and a distinct perspective of what it takes to develop affirming relationships among diverse groups.

Ramona fully grasps the subtleties that impede even the most progressive agendas and honorable intentions. Seeking to advance and strengthen multiracial/multicultural work, Ramona teaches organizations how to strategically address socially constructed barriers that prevent diverse groups from working together.

Through her lectures, workshops and trainings, audiences gain the knowledge, insight and sensibilities they need to develop meaningful relationships among diverse groups and produce successful initiatives that reach, engage, serve and impact diverse communities.

A passionate advocate for higher education, Ramona loves to inspire and prepare students for college success. Through her presentations for various institutions and organizations, Ramona shows students how to make their college career an extraordinary and exciting adventure.

Ramona’s educational and professional career reflect her enthusiasm for higher education. She attended a large public majority university as well as a private Historically Black College and University (HBCU). As a student, she participated in the honors program, received scholarships and awards, achieved academic excellence, participated in various co-curricular activities, served as student government president, traveled throughout the US and abroad, graduated with honors, earned the B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees, and had fun! Ramona has also had a range of professional experiences in higher education–as a member of the staff, faculty, board of trustees, alumni associations, and advisory boards.
