Black History Month begins today, and I am excited to launch the celebration by featuring the history of the Atlanta Daily World.  Founded in 1928 by W.A. Scott, the Atlanta Daily World became the first successful African American-owned daily newspaper in the United States.  In 1997, Scott’s granddaughter Alexis Scott became its publisher until Real Times Media acquired it in 2012.

Thank you to Ms. Alexis Scott for sharing this remarkable history with my audience. An interesting side note, Ms. Scott will be featured on my podcast this month!  Make sure you join us!
